Damón provides strategic direction and leadership for our safety program, helping us achieve continual improvement in our performance. His primary responsibilities include developing our behavior-based safety culture, overseeing our safety and health program, site safety pre-planning and compliance, and partnering with management and field personnel to help ensure the health and safety of our employees.
Damón takes a “hands-on” approach to implementing safety practices that help prevent injuries and property damage and is instrumental in training managers and field personnel on the latest construction safety practices. He believes pre-planning, site logistics, and a continual assessment process throughout the stages of construction are key.
Expertise
Damón has worked in construction and general industry for 28 years, with the majority of that time spent in the safety field. Throughout his career, he has participated in several safety committees, obtained many relevant certifications, and attended numerous training courses.
His certification and training experience includes:
- OSHA 501 certification
- 30-Hour OSHA Construction certification
- 30-Hour OSHA General Industry certification
- 40 Hour OSHA HAZWOPER training
- Zurich Risk Management Assessment training
- Six Sigma White Belt training
- Numerous OSHA environmental, safety, and health trainings and certifications
- CPR/First aid certification
